Our Story

Libra Woodwork is a small family-run workshop created by us, Sam and Jemma.
Sam is a qualified carpenter and Jemma is a qualified painter and decorator, so together we bring the skills to design, build, and finish every piece ourselves.

What started as a shared passion for creating furniture for our own home slowly grew into Libra Woodwork. Many of our designs are inspired by everyday family life — practical storage, organisers, and furniture made to work in real homes.

As parents, we know how important it is for a home to feel both functional and personal. A lot of our ideas begin with simple moments like “we need somewhere to put this” or “this would make life easier” — and those ideas become the handmade pieces we now share with others.

Every item is handcrafted in our West Sussex workshop using real wood, carefully cut, assembled, painted, and finished by us. No mass production, no shortcuts — just honest craftsmanship and attention to detail.

Alongside our handmade pieces, we also love restoring and upcycling furniture, giving old pieces a new life and creating something unique again.
